In an age of
job uncertainty and massive consumerism, a small but growing group of
Christians are slowing down, changing their focus and building a simpler
dream. This dream is a learning process, focusing on enjoying life at a
slower pace that often involves a complete change in viewpoint from the
worldly view.
Food for Thought - Why do we ask kids
and adults to say no to drugs, drunkenness, and obesity, but consider
it almost impossible for them to say no to premarital and extramarital
sex?
The Challenge:Let's say you
move across the country and don't have ANY groceries or staples in the
house. You have $55.00 for the weekly shopping at regular grocery store.
Make a fairly balanced menu and shopping list for three people at three
meals a day.
Every Sunday our Church has
a potluck dinner after services but there are many times that I start
running out of ideas! As a result, I would love to share recipes with
others to build a potluck cookbook. Come on by and join!
Does it always have to be pre-packaged
with tons of preservatives to taste good? I challenge you to get back to
basics. It is less expensive, better for you and tastes great!
Wouldn't it be refreshing to view a
movie without all the garbage that we find these days in the theatres
and in videos? One that portrays Christian values, for Christians and by
Christians?
For the last three years,
our homeschool math curriculum has been Open Court 'Real Math' written
in the 1980's. Since then it has been re-published as SRA Math:
Explorations and Applications.
I have had numerous

reading this, you are already here! The Internet.
Is your family's idea of
time together, an evening in front of the television or just sitting in
the same room but not actually interacting? Can you imagine having fun
with old fashioned games? Do you children know how to play with a ball

Becky Freeman
takes stories from her life and brings tears of laughter as she tells
you about her family and simplistic life. For those that have joined
rural living from suburban or city life, you will find yourselves
nodding in agreement throughout the book.
With the recent
addition of 15 baby chicks to our small homestead, I took time to
research into the feed and care of these little eating machines. This
book turned out to be the easiest reading, most informational beginner's
guide. It covers almost everything you will need as a beginning chicken
farmer. Highly recommended!
